About Merge Docs Pro

Merge Docs Pro is a Google Docs add-on built by Thinksolv in Coimbatore, India. It started from a simple problem: long documents are easier to write in parts, but Google Docs has no way to put the parts back together. This site is where we share the add-on and the practical document guides we write along the way.

Who writes the guides

Vikram Aruchamy

Technical writer and developer of Merge Docs Pro

Vikram is a technical writer who builds Google Workspace add-ons at Thinksolv, including Merge Docs Pro. The guides on this site come from writing and assembling long technical documents in Word, Google Docs and LaTeX.

The guides grow out of 109+ screen-recorded tutorials on the Workflow Tips YouTube channel. Each one starts with a task readers search for, is recorded step by step, and is then written up with the Windows, Mac and web differences and the fixes for common problems.

How we write and check guides

  • Checked against official documentation

Every menu path, shortcut and limit in a guide is checked against Microsoft Support, Google Docs Help or the official package documentation, and linked so you can verify it.

  • Recorded, not just written

Most guides are built around one of our own screen-recorded walkthroughs on the Workflow Tips YouTube channel, so the steps on the page match what you see on screen.

  • Windows, Mac and web noted separately

Where Word or Google Docs behaves differently on Windows, Mac, the web or mobile, the guide says so instead of assuming one version.

  • Dated and kept current

Each guide shows when it was last updated. Code and command-line guides list the versions they were tested on.

Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we'll check and correct the guide.
